On the way to Havana you will do a panoramic tour of Matanzas city and a photo stop at a lookout (Mirador Bacunayagua) overlooking the highest bridge in Cuba and the magnificent Yumuri Valley. You will then reach the “Playas del Este” region (beach area East of Havana) and see the Havana Club distillery. Also on the program is a visit to the “Bocoy” rum factory and a visit to the “Casa del Habano” where you can enjoy a welcome cocktail and learn about the process on how to make handmade cigars, take home a Cuban cigar and even learn how to light it.
Next you will do a panoramic tour through the Metropolitain and Modern Havana, including the Vedado and Miramar neighbourhoods and photo stops at the Plaza de la Revolucion and the Capitilio. Lunch will be served at the famous restaurant “El Floridita”.
You will then do a walking tour through the historical center of Colonial Havana (a.k.a Havana Vieja or Old Havana), declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco, where you will pass by many old plazas (such as: Plaza de la Cathedral, Plaza Vieja, Plaza San Francisco de Asis and Plaza de Armas). You will have free time to do some shopping or continue to wander the cobbled streets of Old Havana. Next on the program is a brief photo stop at the 16th Century El Morro Castle lookout for beautiful views of Old Havana and the famous seafront promenade, the Malecon.
