1 - Discoteca La Salsa

This dance club is located at Hotel Gran Caribe Club Puntarena, at the western end of Varadero. It’s visited mostly by hotel Puntarena and Playa Caleta guests but also by tourists from other resorts. Opening hours: 11:30pm to 4:00am.

2 - La Descarga Karaoke Bar this bar no longer exits

Located next to Hotel Kawama this fun place gives you the opportunities to show-off your singer skills while enjoying your favorite drinks. Admission: 3 USD. Opening hours: 10 pm to 5 am.

3 - Benny Bar
Address: Camino del Mar between Calles 12 and 13, Varadero. Phone: (53 45) 61 3787
This little beachfront club was named after the famous Cuban musician and composer Benny More (a.k.a. The Barbarian of Rhythm). Listen to the sounds of the greatest jazz stars and the rhythms of the Cuban traditional music while enjoying your favorite drink. Opening hours: 12 pm to 12 am.

4 - La Pachanga

Located inside Hotel Acuazul in downtown Varadero, this discoteca is a popular place with independent travelers and locals. Openings hours: 11 pm to 3 am..

5 - FM-17
Address: Avenida 1 corner of Calle 17, Varadero. Phone: (53 45) 61 4831
FM17 is located on a busy intersection and it's opened 24 hours. They serve snacks (hamburgers, ice cream, etc.) and beer, wine and cocktails, including some the best mojitos in town. They have a large stage and during the evening this place comes alive with music from live bands. Opening hours: 24h.

6 - La Arboleda
Address: Avenida 1 corner of Calle 18, Varadero.
This tiny bar (approximately 3 X 10 meters!) is open 24 hours. Live bands play here nightly, entertaining the audience with traditional Cuban rhythms. It’s one of the very few places where both Cuban currencies are accepted (CUP and USD) making this cozy bar the perfect place to meet locals and musicians from the area, and to experience an authentic Cuban atmosphere. 7 - Disco la Red

8 - Casa de la Musica
Address: Avenida Playa corner of Calle 42, Varadero.
This is a good spot for those who want to enjoy a live band performing Cuban music. Some famous group have played at Casa de la Musica over the years. The place is spacious and air-conditioned with good lighting and sound equipment. They serve all kinds of drinks as well as snacks and some delicious creole dishes. Admission: 10 USD. Opening hours: 5 pm to 9 pm, and 10:30 pm to 3 am

9 - Karaoke 440 this bar no longer exits
Address: Camino del Mar corner of Calle 49, Varadero.
This place mixes karaoke contest with dance music for a night of fun, and sometimes bands play live music here. Admission: 2 USD. Opening hours: 9:30 pm to 2:00 am.

10 - El Kastillito

Be captivated by the cool ocean breeze that surrounds you as you dance the night away. The half-indoor half-outdoor beachfront bar is a popular spot for local and tourists. Opening hours: 10 pm to 3 am.

11 - Club Mediterraneo (aka Ecodisco Mediterraneo)

This open-air nightclub features a two-hour live show and DJ music. Listen and dance to Caribbean rhythms including salsa, meringue, reggaeton, etc. You’ll find on the same roof a restaurant and a coffee shop. Admission: 5 USD. Opening hours: 9 pm to 2 am.

12 - The Beatles

At Beatles´s rock bar you can enjoy live shows (3 to 4 weekly) from the best Rock & Roll bands in Cuba. The show usually starts around 9:30 pm, the bands plays on an outdoor patio (approximately 150 seats). During the high season you should get there early (~ 8:30) if you want to get a seat on the patio. Admission: Free. Opening hours: 1:00 pm to 1:00 am.

13 - La Comparsita

La Comparsita features live music, salsa dance groups, karaoke, and amateur comedians for the ultimate entertainment experience. This open-air casual club built to re-create the feel of a colonial-era courtyard is a fun and happening place. The rhythms are mainly Cuban and the place features a nice balance between a bar, a dance club, and a cabaret. Admission: 5 USD. Opening hours: Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday: 10:30 pm to 3:00 am / Tuesday, Friday and Saturday: 10:00 pm to 3:00 am.

14 - Discoteca Havana Club

Located near downtown Varadero (close to Hotel Arenas Blancas and Palma Real) this lively discotheque is frequented by locals and is also popular with tourists because of its proximity to many resorts, making it one of the most visited discos in Varadero. They play mostly the usual North-American clubbin music (Pop, hip-hop, etc.). Admission: 10 USD open-bar / Free for Hotel Palma Real guests. Opening hours: 10:30 pm to 3:00 am, daily.

15 - Calle 62
Address: Corner of Avenida 1 and Calle 62, Varadero.
This open-air place is a snackbar during the day where you can enjoy one of the most popular snack in Cuba: the ham & cheese sandwich. The atmosphere becomes much more festive after dark with live music going on until midnight with people dancing on the street. Admission: Free. Opening hours: 8 am to 2 am.

16 - Cabaret Continental !!!! closed for renovations since early 2015, re-opening date: ??? more info to come.

This famous cabaret is part of Varadero’s history and is located near downtown Varadero inside Hotel Internacional built in the 1950’s. This grandiose and extravagant floor show (Tropicana-style) with singers and dancers is very popular amongst tourists and locals. You can make a reservation with or without dinner, and be sure to book the dinner reservation well in advance. Dinner starts around 8:00pm (with music) and the cabaret show starts around 10:00pm. After the dinner and show (around midnight) the cabaret transforms into a disco where you can dance until the early hours of morning. Admission: 40 USD for dinner + show + disco, 25 USD for show + disco, 10 USD for disco only. Opening hours: 8:00pm to 4:00am, closed on Monday.

17 - Havana Cafe

This nightclub looks like a 1930’s style ballroom featuring a live show followed by disco dancing. It’s very similar to its counterpart at the Melia Cohiba hotel in Havana. Admission: 12 USD.Opening hours: 10:00pm to 2:00am, daily.

18 - Discoteca la Bamba

This large video-discotheque (capacity 500 people) is located at Hotel Tuxpan in the Eastern part of Varadero’s peninsula. Well known for its diverse musical styles, this is a great place if you’re looking for variety including salsa, merengue, danza , disco, etc. Admission includes open-bar. Admission: 10 USD / Free for Hotel Tuxpan guests. Opening hours: 10:30 pm to 3:00 am daily.

19 - Palacio de la Rumba (aka la Rumba)

This is one of the most famous and popular discotheque in Varadero, it’s located next to Hotel Bella Costa. It’s a good place to meet other tourists and locals while dancing to Caribbean beats, pop music, reggeaton and other latin rhythms. Admission: 10 USD, drinks included. 20 - Bar Mirador

Located on the top floor of the historic Xanadu Mansion (formerly Dupont Mansion), the Bar Mirador is one of the most romantic places in Varadero. Its decor is a mix between art deco and Moorish style. Popular during Happy Hour, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy your favorite cocktail while looking at the sunset, with stunning views of the ocean and the Varagero golf course. Admission: 2 USD. 21 - Cueva del Pirata (Pirate’ cave)

This cabaret/disco is located inside a natural cave making it a very unique experience. It features a show (pirates theme) with live music, singers and dancers; afterwards the place transforms to a discotheque. This is one of the most popular nightclubs in Varadero. 22 - Mambo Club

This trendy and stylish venue attracts people who want to dance or enjoy a game of pool to the sound of Cuban and international music of the 1950’s. Professional dancers teach the visitors the movements of the vibrant mambo dance. It’s located on the eastern side of Varadero’s peninsula, near hotel Starfish Varadero (formerly Aguas Azules / Club Amigo). Admission: 10 USD drinks included. Opening hours: Monday to Friday: 10 pm to 2 am / Saturday and Sunday: 10 pm to 3 am.

23 - Tropicana Matanzas (also called Tropicana Varadero)

Located approximately 30 minutes from Varadero and 8 km east of the city of Matanzas, this open-air theater features a show similar to the famous one in Havana. Many tourists from the Varadero’s hotels and resorts go there to enjoy this grandiose show with music, lights, and extravagant choreographies and costumes. The show lasts 90 minutes and afterwards you can continue the celebration by dancing the night away. In almost every resort and tour agencies in town you can book an evening at the Tropicana Matanzas. Typical packages include: round-trip transportation, complimentary Cuba Libre (rum & cola cocktail), and the ticket for the show.
